Putting the soul into your food


This week we focus on Chef Joyce who is known for her flair of preparing different types of cuisine which bursts with flavour. She has a deep understanding of how to blend different flavours together in order to achieve a dish that will take your taste buds on a delightful journey. We asked Chef Joyce these five questions, and here is what she had to say:

1. What do you enjoy most about being a chef?
I enjoy creating different dishes. In doing so, I get to experiment with different flavours and enjoy presenting it in an appetizing and colourful manner, making our guests want to try them.

2. What is your favourite dish that you have prepared at Nambiti Hills and how did you prepare it?
I enjoy preparing Norwegian Salmon – one of our main course dishes. I serve it with potato & sweetcorn cakes, salmon fillet, hollandaise sauce with cucumber noodles and red peppers on top. It is a meal enjoyed by many guests!

3. What do you enjoy most about working at Nambiti Hills?
It’s always an adventure. Each and every day I learn something new. There is never a dull day – ever!

4. When you are not at work, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I am one of those people who actually love where I work. So, when I’m not busy I love going on game drives. They’re always so interesting. I also enjoy going into town to do some shopping.

5. What about food inspires you and how do you know you have accomplished your day’s work?
I love learning, so every day brings forth new opportunities. I get to experience and sample unique flavours that “I” create. Then there’s the responses from our guests. I love hearing about how much they love the meal they have just had. It makes me feel really proud about what I do on a daily basis – and that is priceless.
